In 2024 I purchased two calendars: Zen Garden and Classic Fairy Tales. After the 2025 new year, I began to deconstruct and reassemble these calendars to create epic and dramatic scenes. For example, in Fantasy Collage #1, a young man must fight giant birds to rescue a damsel in distress. Additionally, a man, a horse and a chicken go on a journey together.
The narratives are open to interpretation. I enjoyed repurposing these calendars which otherwise would have ended up in the trash. It was also fun to return to my favorite type of art-making: collage!
